The Sunday Times published it’s annual ‘Schools Guide’ last weekend. The guide lists the top 400 secondary schools in Ireland ranked by the average proportion of pupils gaining places in autumn 2013, 2014 and 2015 at the main universities, teacher training colleges, Royal College of Surgeons, two Northern Ireland Universities and NCAD.

Laurel Hill in Limerick has topped the Sunday Times survey for the third consecutive year sending an average of 93.6% of it's students on to university over the past three years.

The top school in Connaught was Jesus & Mary Secondary School, Salthill
The top school in Munster was Laurel Hill Colaiste FCJ
The top school in Leinster was Clongowes Wood College, Clane
The top school in Ulster was Colaiste Ailigh, Letterkenny
The top school in Cork was Presentation Brothers Mardyke
The top school in North Dublin was Castleknock College
The top school in SouthDublin was Gonzaga College
The top girls school was Laurel Hill Colaiste FCJ
The top boys school was Gonzaga College
The top mixed school was Colaiste na Coiribe, Galway

Of the top 20 schools this year, 10 are all-girl schools, seven are all-boys and three are mixed. Ghaelcholaisti also continue to perform well with 12 of the 42 gaelcholaisti in the top 100 schools.
