re : Becoming a Carer           20/10/2015 19:00 - Miscellaneous ----------------------------------- I do think that being a parent helps to prepare you for a career as a carer. Being a parent requires you to be kind and patient. These qualities are very important for a carer. Also I think that the years spent physically and emotionally taking care of your children will give you invaluable experience that you can carry forward to your career as a carer.

I think it would certainly teach you some patience when dealing with people that might be more difficult to deal with.

re : Becoming a Carer           21/10/2015 13:01 - Miscellaneous ----------------------------------- I think that being a parent is good preparation for being a Carer because you have to put the needs of your children before your own needs and be always aware of what has to be done for them. It makes you think of the physical and emotional needs of others which is what the job of Carer is about.

re : Becoming a Carer           20/10/2015 20:38 - Miscellaneous ----------------------------------- I think it does because when you have kids you will learn to put your kids needs first and to have a lot of patience with them. So when you are a carer, you will have to put your clients needs first to complete the tasks that needs to be done. You will have to have patience and listen to them as well and being a parent helps you do this.
